Quark Interactive Designer was named best creative Web software of the year because it “makes QuarkXPress a more rounded cross-media authoring tool and enables designers to build lively Flash presentations,” according to the Macworld judging panel. Quark Interactive Designer beat out strong competition from the other products nominated in the category including Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, BareBones BBEdit 8.6, RealMac Software RapidWeaver 3.5, and Softpress Freeway 4.3.2.

“We are especially pleased to be recognized by such a prestigious publication as Macworld,” said Gavin Drake, Quark European marketing director. “Multi-channel publishing is both a challenge and an opportunity for creative professionals. With Quark Interactive Designer we’re enabling designers to go beyond print, leverage all of their existing QuarkXPress design skills and content to create compelling interactive experiences without having to learn a new tool or complex development skills.”

Quark Interactive Designer enables designers to create vibrant, interactive Flash (SWF) projects, complete with sound, movies, and animation, using the same powerful design tools that they already know in QuarkXPress. Interactive layouts can share content and design attributes with Web and print layouts so designers can create and publish coordinated Web, print, and SWF pieces all from within QuarkXPress 7.
