Bart Farkas write this book on podcasting before the release of GarageBand 3. It therefore contains many tips and tricks that are only useful to you if you’re working with a Windows PC, or if you stubbornly insist on using inefficient software.
The intro above doesn’t do justice to Farkas’ book, to be quite honest. He also covers the hardware, the setup of the “studio” and more. But it’s true: once you’ve used Apple GarageBand to create a podcast, you will wonder what Farkas is talking about.
Farkas is a pioneer and he has the bad luck of living in an era where technologies have a life cycle of barely six months. That sort of made his book for about half obsolete by the time it hit the book stores. But Farkas has been clever enough to also include the information you need to publish the existence of your podcast on the Internet.
And so, the podcast book really is a book about creating and publishing a podcast. Farkas goes well beyond the iTunes podcast library where you can announce your podcasts easily. He covers about every currently available podcasting directory on the web. That by itself makes the book a valuable addition to your library.
