HP announced the launch of the HP Indigo press 3050 for mainstream commercial printers. Based on the Series 2 engine, the HP Indigo press 3050 is targeted for medium to large commercial printers. The HP Indigo press 3050 replaces the HP Indigo press 3000 as a natural part of HP’s program of continuous improvement.
The HP Indigo press 3050 is based on theHP Indigo press 3000 and is to further increase the benefits of liquid ink technology for medium to large commercial printers. Apart from increased reliability features, the HP Indigo press 3050 should have low acquisition cost, one year of free service and low service costs.
HP claims the press benefits from the company’s low consumables cost and ‘no-commitment’ consumables pricing. The HP Indigo press 3050 has all the image quality and seven-color printing capability expected from HP Indigo presses. The HP Indigo press 3050, with its service and consumables package, will be especially tempting to Series 1 and Indigo UltraStream owners, according to HP.
The features of the HP Indigo press 3050 include:
• An improved paper path with increased paper feed reliability
• Improved handling of low grammage papers
• Easier operation through hardware and software improvements
• Improved press stability through new software
• Compatibility with the new Series 4.0 HP ElectroInk that, among other benefits, delivers longer photo imaging plate (PIP) life
• Low cost consumables that do not require a print volume commitment
• One year free service and low service pricing
