Fill in The Form.
InCopy CS2 is not a difficult program to understand and use. It does not even have so many features that you would get lost using it. But it does have a few unique characteristics that deserve closer attention.
The only problem with that is that these might not deserve a whole book. The authors, Adam Pratt and Mike Richman, seem to have understood as much. They start the book with the obvious: the interface basics.
From there, the authors take you to file extensions, tracking changes, and other fairly obvious topics. Luckily, the not so obvious is covered too. XML creation is not as easy as it sounds with InCopy CS2, and this book explains how you can create a XML file.
THe integration with InDesign CS2 is also more difficult than Adobe would like you to believe. The integration too is covered in depth and in clear and easy to understand language.
And so, if you are using InCopy CS2 in a fully integrated workflow together with InDesign CS2, then this book can save you a lot of headaches. For XML creation, it simply is a must have. But if you use InCopy CS2 as a simple alternative to Microsoft Word, I believe you can do without this “Complete coverage of Adobe InCopy CS2.”
