The French government, as in about every other European country, regularly organises contests to stimulate technological invention. This year’s “Concours d’aide à la création d’entreprises” chose to support Aquafadas’ new iDive Pro project because of its innovative characteristics.

Aquafadas is the developer of the video tape management software iDive. The company wanted to start development on iDive Pro, a version of iDive that will be based on database technology, support workgroup processing, etc. In short, iDive Pro will be tailored towards professional video users in the broadcast and motion picture industries.

iDive Pro will for example detect professional camera standards and offer an innovative and powerful capture and logging environment. The Award will allow Aquafadas to start collaborations with public research labs like LIRMM de Montpellier, in order to turn iDive Pro into what is to become the most powerful pre-production application for the Mac.
