Creating a 3D Award Logo (one way of doing it)

You can create an award logo fairly quickly: just grab one of Adobe Illustrator’s ready-made award backgrounds, drop your logo and some text in the template and you’re ready. Your award logo will look good, but it won’t be any different from those of others who do the same. You can also use Illustrator’s built-in 3D capabilities to draw the 3D shape that I wanted to discuss. I took another approach. Using a 3D application, Adobe Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Illustrator CS3, I created a combined Award logo for a product that won two different prizes in 2006 and 2007. Here’s how I did it.
